(Problems of the cultural traditions and
the interrelationship between the traditions and the civilization)
North Russia, especially Arkhangelsk area considered
now a reserve of Russian national culture. Here more than in other regions
of Russia the features of Archaic culture are kept not only in well-preserved
architectural monuments, but also in people�s mentality and living manner.
It gives an opportunity to revive many traditional folk crafts, such as:
wood-carving and painting on wood, embroidery and patch-work, pottery,
different kinds of weaving of natural materials, bone carving.
To popularize traditional crafts of North Russia
the Arkhangelsk division of the Artists� Union of Russia offers you the
following exhibitions:

Russian Wood. From ancient time till nowdays.

Folk Russian Textile. Traditions and contemporaneity.

Folk Art Masters of North Russia.
The exhibitions include objects of material and spiritual
culture of North Russia of the end of XIX � the beginning of XX centuries,
modern folk masters works, demonstration of folk crafts, selling of modern
masters works.
Our working group consist of three persons: folk
art expert, designer, interpreter. The number of invited masters to be
discussed additionally.
The financial side of the organization of the
exhibition is also to be discussed additionally.

on our exhibitions.
